April 29 Gahhaha first post in nine months~ this place looks as cramped as ever. and I'm surprised this place got accessed through RSS lol ![]() ...blargh... it's so hot today >_> January 07 Wordpress: Access rediscoveredSo, it all started from a certain group conversation on WLM (formerly known as MSNmsgr). So the topic turned from trip plans to game news, to arguements, to randomness, etc etc, and somewhere between it I was reminded that I had Wordpress(yeah, I forgot). So... went there... looked around a little... Err, yeah, like the title suggests, that case has been solved. Pretty dumb of me for forgetting that I could just ask for a password reset anyway. So now I resume my plans to move over. Go here for future entries: http://shiroki.wordpress.com/ December 31 Year EndnessAbout a full year back, I made a somewhat long entry on some anime review and stuff. That one entry(alone) garnered quite a number of google hits, though I bet most were just looking for ddls (Sad to say but you won't find any here, not on a regular basis at least. lurk moar). Anyway, was initially planning to make another list of animes to look forward for the coming year 2008 along with a full thesis about... err... stuff... but meh, too lazy. So... no there will not be a materialized list of animes recommendations I have in mind for 2008, nor will there(this) be a proper entry to wrap up 2007. Happy New Year to whoever's reading this~ (though it's already a week past it when I actually post this up... whatever) December 17 The day I scared some lolis It was just another Sunday, with the obligatory eat out for breakfast and a random outing that spans the entire day. It has been a full week since my wallet got raped and burned, I still am temporarily an illegal immigrant and I still lack the presence of the physical proof of my automobile piloting competency. Only progress since then is that we have concluded that the cause of my wallet's disappearance was theft instead of being spirited away as initially believed. Actually, we still aren't really sure but whatever, it's been a week and that's long enough to tell that it won't be back. Oh, and my mother found a photocopy of my IC, yay. but the grayscaleness of it made me look like some retard in the photo, boo. Correction, I look retarded even in the coloured one from before, this one just looks worse. At least I get to have a new photo when I renew it, yay..... bleh.... I was very sleepy throughout the day, mainly because I slept at 5 the night before and got woken up at 9 today. But then I did went back to sleep twice after that, on different beds throughout the house as well, w00t. I dunno why but I have been going to sleep at around 5 for the past few days, I don't even have a reason to do so, I just stay up till 5 doing either nothing, nothing or nothing. Rationally considering it, it's definitely better if I would hava just went to bed earlier if I had nothing to do but once it goes pass 1 or 2am, I'll just instinctively stay away from bed... I just end up staring at the monitor while surfing the net randomly instead. Oh what will become of my biological clock omg Ok, back on track. During the way back after dinner, we stopped by at the Subang Jaya police station to make a report about my stolen wallet and the loss of my official documents. Most of the time there they just asked some questions about when it happened, how it happened and all those stuff aside from lots of waiting. Yeah, it was 40% questioning, 50% waiting, and 10% spectating. I dunno, seeing some people getting brought in with handcuffs on them while I'm on the seat at the counter sure makes me feel... empowered. I really wanted to sneer at them but I refrained, god knows if they still had a dynamite under their shirt. They could blow their guts up all they want but do make sure only those get blown up, I'd prefer to spectate than participate thank you, but alas that's just my paranoia, they were just some random ruffians who messed with the wrong people at the wrong time or something. So we did our stuff and got the report, next we just need to bring it to another station in Sungai Way tomorrow and get it approved and I will be getting my new IC and licence. We were walking out of the police station when I noticed that my mother way behind me while my sister and father were in front of me. This formation seemed like I just got out of jail or something, like "a family that fears that one member would end up in trouble again thus encircling them" kind of thing(?). Stepping out from the gate of the station, another family were just walking pass us with about two little girls staring at me with wide open eyes as if they just made a new discovery in life or something. My urge to sneer from before still had not seized to subside so then I...
No lolis were hurt during the course of the events depicted within this entry. December 09 The day my wallet went MIA omg wtf!? Ah well, yeah, as the title my have given you the idea, my wallet is gone. From explanations and testimonies given by various parties within this structure of the 8 hours time scope from when the wallet were discovered to be missing to its last noted presence, many unusual inconsistencies were found. The possible cause of the wallet's disappearance that we can draw out of our CSI tv show ridden brains are not little. By putting everyone's account, what's most possibly could have happened to my wallet was not that it was misplaced or stolen... but vanished into thin air. Now being rational brain operating human beings, we know flying people on fire with spiky blonde hair and lolis wielding dual anti-tank turret emplacement guns displaying super acrobatic skillz while surviving multiple direct hits from nuclear missiles aren't something we'll be seeing in reality, so aren't vanishing wallets... or teleporting wallets... or wallets turning invisible... or something. Bleh, crap aside, it's gone. But if what everyone mentioned is true, it should still be somewhere within the house... somewhere... Now if I don't find it soon, a visit to the municipal office for a replacement IC and driver's license would be imminent... and I'll also be mourning for the lost of my precious precious surviving RM28.02 from the previous financial attack in KLCC. Summary of expenses?:
orz ...what the hell am I doing? >_> Seriously, what the heck? First it was growing thinner and now it's so infinitely thin that it downright disappeared? wtf? Ah well, shit happens. The day my wallet grew thinner Hoo, the moment I came off the LRT train and walked up the tunnel towards KLCC today, I was greeted by the sight of a guy with his back towards me, stuffing bread into his nose... or so it seemed from that angle, until I noticed he was one of those sad spastic-like(?) kind of people who has faces ten times smaller than their head. So basically, yeah, he was feeding bread to his mouth after all, as opposed to my... earlier assumption. Interesting start for a long day that was indeed. If any of you may not have known today is the day I'll be picking up my much awaited Mirai Nikki vol4 and Ar Tonelico 2 manga vol1 as well as also the first day of PC Fair 2007. So my main objective today are to obtain the two books and 50 Mitsubishi DVD+Rs. So after a brief moment of consideration about which of the two to get first, I decided to go for the two books first since two books are certainly easier and lighter to carry around compared to 50 DVD in a cake casing. Besides, Isetan's right next to where I was anyway. So, yeah, get the 2 books before the 50 DVD+Rs! And then there was this wall at where Kinokuniya was supposed to be... oh the moved... how nice. Since they replied to my email a few days back so at least I know they're not out of business. Kinokuniya and its Japanese branch merged into one. Now they have this extra room/space/area/thing renovated outwards from the side/top of the main premise to house the Japanese books and stuff. There, I took some time to look around the renewed Japanese section to see what they have in store now. What I found was... lots of stuff that I once to ordered. It's like they started to make monthly restocking after someone made the first order for it. For this case it's Mirai Nikki, I saw tonnes or Mirai Nikki vol1-3, and I don't remember seeing any before I ordered it months ago (I did a search on their search machine thing then and it returned results saying there's no such stock, I still have the printed search result with me). The same happened before too with the Nanoha Comics, I don't recall any stocks of it around before I ordered, then all of a sudden there were tonnes the following visits after I retrieved mine. The thing I don't like about this is that those one sold from the huge stocks are usually a little cheaper then the ones you'd order yourself... if I remembered the prices I saw there correctly. Bulk sales kind or thing. And I don't fin it fair that I paid more for mine... not that I could do anything about it though, agh. Anyway, they somehow misplaced my orders somewhere when I asked for it so... another 30 minutes wasted there. The things were cheaper than I initially thought though, must be because Yandere Taizen wasn't there... I bet that thing was well over RM50 by itself lol. And because of this, I somehow still had more money on me after the purchase than I expected, so I went ahead and bought more stuff ahaha. Picked up some local publications: A local release of Dia Dan Kediamanku (Anoko to Ore no Ie), Le.Gardenie and Le.Gardenie Foolish Fruits. I don't know about Anoko (thought the art was nice) but I remember hearing that Le.Gardenie won third place for the national foreign manga awards in Japan a couple of years back, no idea why I'm only interested now though. Ok~ next stop, PC Fair. I wasted lots of energy walking around thanks to my ever so reliable memory for forgetting where the tunnel leading towards the convention centre was. That added with the energy wasted looking for Kinokuniya's Japanese department earlier = great fun. Anyhow, I got there in the end anyway. The place seems similar to last year, even the booth locations were exactly the same as well. Saw quite some nice stuff around, as for the price, well I can't tell since I've detached myself from the price hunting game for... god knows how long. I don't even remember joining it but whatever. Got my 50 Mitsubishi DVD+Rs at RM45, dunno if that's cheap or what, meh. Then I left the place and headed home. Hoo~ Summary of expenses:
Took three days to make this entry lol, procrastination ftw. December 06 Assignment preview 0.5I was about to install Adobe Premiere CS3 and Adobe After Effects CS3 last night when I notice my C drive has been filled up a little over 50% of its capacity. I don't know about how you people treat your harddisk drives but I've had this paranoia about overpopulating my C drive ever since after a certain incident from my past, therefore I always try to always keep at least about half of the drive free. So... yeah, saw it was well over the halfway mark. I'm pretty sure where all those gbs went into though. Having not installed anything besides essential applications and those for assignment reasons on my C drive, it's definitely those random files and crap I downloaded and threw into those random folders on my second desktop. That's me alright, frankly speaking, I have not really arrange my files properly since I graduated from secondary school (2005). Mainly because the rate of files and craps I downloaded randomly increased by multiple million folds after I graduated (with all those free time in my hand, heh), so the files were increasing in numbers so rapidly I figured arranging them early would only mean more rearranging to do not too long later, so I thought I'd just leave them until much later when I can rearrange them all at once. What I never expected was for those 'random files and craps' gathered in 5 months would make up 10Gb of god-knows-what... and yes, that was just May 2006, imagine how much trash there are now lol. Anyway, back on the topic at hand, yeah, so I was just trying to shave a few gbs off my C drive to keep it back on a little above or around half the capacity, mostly by just looking around if there's anything I can delete, then I ran into this prototype video thing that I made way before the earlier Random Mixture video collage. It was for the same assignment, only that it was done for fun on a whim before I even decided on the concept, song, idea, and all those planning stuff for the main product. It was among a whole bunch of other file remnants of my other assignments too... most of them being trash now since I've archived all of them on my works folder weeks before. Damn I sure made lots of copy of my files back when I was working on my assignments, often did I forgot which copy was the most updated version... and when the job's done they'll just be taking up space as I forgot they even existed... agh ↑ thumbnail of the video, click to enlarge | Link to video dl: clicky (don't click on the ads by mistake though, the real download link takes quite a while to appear) So... yeah, like I mentioned earlier, this is the video I did for the same assignment as that non-sense video I uploaded a couple of days ago, just that this one was done with zero preparation and using recycled clips from the assignment I was doing before that. The audio are out of sync by a couple of milliseconds thanks to me repeatedly extracting, recompressing and reimporting the audio countless of times. You can see how effortless this one is, jump shots, no transitions, and overdrive filtered clip repetitions. The beat somehow matches the visuals though, surprisingly. Kai power!
December 04 omfg it's here! Err, yeah, my orders are here. However though, Yandere Taizen was out of stock in Japan so they weren't able to ship a copy over for me... according to them. Somehow, I suspect it has to do with "ONLY IN JAPAN" kind of thing... I dunno, maybe... Anyway, I also added an order for the Ar Tonelico 2 manga some weeks after the first order and that also arrived as well according to the notice. Ah well, Yandere Taizen for AT2 manga... hmm... Oh, and PC Fair will on from the 7th onwards till the 9th on Sunday at KLCC (convention center). Alas, it's not the really best place to get T3H B357 bargain for hardwares but it sure have DVD+Rs at a decent price scope, or at least that's what my past experience told me. Coincidentally enough, I am running low on DVD+Rs right now. So I'm planning to go down to KL anytime within that 3 days (most definitely Friday...) and pick up my mangas + stop by at the fair and get a new stack of Mitsubishis. Well, 'planning to' eh...
December 02 Assignment preview 1(?)Ok, my semester ended a week ago. As always, the final 2 weeks were the most hectic of the 14, with assignments due and exams and presentations and whatever else. Anyway, among my many final assignments, there were two videos. Figured I never really did much updating in here the past god knows how long, it would be somewhat appropriate to put it up for fun. However though, I could only upload one of the two for now, as I failed to reencode the other without making it looking like utter blackness, let alone that the original 'decent' looking file is over 300mb for a 3 minute video. Fun stuff. ↑ thumbnail of the video, click to enlarge | Link to video dl: clicky Ok, so this one's the video collage I did for me Video and Audio Editing class (it was supposed to be a music video, but what I did with it made it look more like a video collage... you'll see what I mean). I guess I got carried away with the fun of making fun of stuff (haha, fun of fun of), your brain would probably bleed if you try to make sense of anything in there, I myself had no idea what's going on lol. Well, the visual matches the beat anyway so it's awwwright I'll upload the other one next time if I manage to figure out a way to compress it without screwing the thing up... maybe...
